Leader of the essential oils industry.
The Viorica story begins in the 1950s with the development of the essential oils industry in the Republic of Moldova. The landscape, high-quality soil and mild climate were ideal for growing premium aromatic plants such as rose, lavender, sage, mint, fennel and iris.

Mihai Hîncu and the Evolution of the Industry
Until the 1980s, small farms cultivated and processed valuable plants. Mihai Hîncu — who devoted 43 years to this industry — perfected the production of essential oils and cosmetics. In 1980, on his initiative, the Viorica factory was built in Chișinău, inspired by the design of the Christian Dior factory and bringing advanced technology to Moldova.

The Launch of Production
Viorica began operations on May 12, 1989, using modern equipment imported from Germany that ensured high-quality products and large production capacity. In less than a year, Viorica became one of the leading suppliers of cosmetics, perfumes, household products and hygiene products in Moldova.

A New Era
2012 marked a turning point in Viorica's history. Acquired by the Daac Hermes Group, the company received an investment of over 8 million euros. This enabled modernization and expansion of the product line, the purchase of new equipment from Germany and Spain, and — most importantly — the expansion of the Research & Development department and modernization of two factory laboratories.

A New Era
20122012 marked a turning point in Viorica's history. Acquired by the Daac Hermes Group, the company received an investment of over 8 million euros. VioPark
A major milestone for the company was the launch of its own eco-plantation, VioPark, in 2016. Here, following the principles of ecological agriculture, dozens of plant species are cultivated and later used as raw materials for Viorica cosmetics. The project was developed with the support of Austrian scientist Sepp Holzer, an international expert in permaculture.
